BWA in collaboration with EGROW Foundation and India International Centre hosted a workshop on Digital India: The Way Forward. The workshop was graced by Dr. Arvind Virmani (Member, NITI Aayog) as the Chairman of the workshop, while Dr. Charan Singh (CEO and Founding Director, EGROW Foundation) delivered the inaugural address. The workshop served as a significant step toward understanding and navigating the complexities of India’s digital transformation, fostering a roadmap that aims at inclusive growth and technological empowerment for Web3.
BWA successfully conducted a first-of-its-kind capacity building and training workshop for Virtual Digital Asset Service Providers (VDA SPs) that are Reporting Entities (REs) under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) 2002. The event saw over 60 participants representing 30 REs and was graced by our Honourable Chief Guest Sh. Vivek Aggarwal, Director, Financial Intelligence Unit, India (FIU-IND). The event included several informative sessions on PMLA Compliance for VDA SPs, contributing to the vibrant discussions and knowledge exchange.
BWA hosted a Visioning Workshop in New Delhi with the goal of bringing together various stakeholders from the Web3 sector. The workshop had a comprehensive discussion on critical topics including Web3 use cases beyond trading, AML/CFT concerns, consumer protection and the underlying value of VDAs, among other challenges currently facing the sector. The workshop saw discussions on topics of all issues of importance for the domestic Web3 sector and resulted in key insights with the aim of building consensus among India’s Web3 sector.

Research and Information System for Developing Countries (RIS) in collaboration with BWA conducted a roundtable discussion on the policy and regulatory landscape of the VDA industry. The event was chaired by Dr. Sachin Chaturvedi, Director General of RIS, and witnessed constructive debate and in-depth conversations on the evolving policy and regulatory landscape of the VDA sector from the perspectives of India and the G20 countries.
The Department of Consumer Affairs (DoCA) organized a workshop to provide a platform for constructive dialogue between the DoCA and stakeholders and ensure end-to-end protection for users in the Web3 space. The workshop was chaired by Shri Rohit Kumar Singh and attended by Smt. Nidhi Khare, Additional Secretary, DoCA and Shri Vineet Mathur, Joint Secretary, DoCA among several other high-ranking government agents, ecosystem players, experts, and non-Web3 representatives. It explored the evolving landscape of Virtual Digital Assets, Web3 technologies, and their implications on consumer protection.

This gathering served as a platform for legal experts, policymakers, and industry representatives to exchange insights on key challenges and opportunities shaping the Web3 ecosystem in India.
BW Businessworld hosted its first edition of ‘BW Web 3.0 Summit & Awards’ to acknowledge the industry leaders navigating the domain of blockchain and Web 3. Our Chairperson Mr Dilip Chenoy shared his thoughts on the panel on ‘Prioritising the unserved & underserved – Role of Web 3.0 innovation in facilitating financial inclusivity.’
The two-day summit highlighted the transformative potential of Web 3 as a technology that benefits both customers as well as businesses. It also catered to how currency influences real-world assets and how immersive tech drives next-gen consumer-facing brands.
Our Chairperson, Mr Dilip Chenoy was the Guest of Honour in the conference on “Transforming Public Utilities: Blockchain Use-Cases over Digital Infrastructure Aligning G20 Agenda.” He moderated the session on ‘Skilling and Capacity Building in Blockchain/Web3.0.’ The conference explored and showcased the diverse range of use cases for blockchain in optimizing and revolutionizing public utility systems on digital infrastructure.
Our Chairperson Shri Dilip Chenoy moderated the panel discussion on “Harnessing the Potential of Web3 to Tackle Government Challenges” during the 3rd day of the Bengaluru Tech Summit. The objective of the panel was to facilitate a dialogue on how Web3 can be leveraged to address government challenges and transform the governance landscape.
Our Chairperson led a panel on ‘Web3 Regulation: Past and Future’ with Amit Rangari, Head of Legal at Mudrex, and Bharath T, Founder of Onmeta. Some key insights from the panel included the significant progress made in the last two years integrating VDA into existing regulations, Web3 players proactively adopting KYC and compliance best practices and how India’s path to becoming a Web3 player requires ease of business, favourable taxation, and comprehensive regulation.
Our Chairperson Mr. Dilip Chenoy delivered a thought-provoking keynote address at the 13th All India Women Entrepreneurs Awards and Conference 2024. He emphasized the need for more women entrepreneurs and how they contribute to making the world better. During his speech, Mr. Chenoy highlighted the crucial role of women entrepreneurs in addressing global challenges, especially in creating jobs and fostering economic growth. He discussed the importance of creating an ecosystem that nurtures and supports women entrepreneurs, enabling them to scale their businesses and contribute significantly to the economy.
Mr. Dilip Chenoy, Chairperson of Bharat Web3 Association participated in a discussion along with Mr. Karan Keswani, CEO of BharatBox and Mr. Sumit Gupta, CEO and Co-founder of CoinDCX on Web3 beyond tokens. Our Chairperson shared insights on the evolving landscape of web3 in India and its wide-ranging applications across finance, marketplaces , and governance . He emphasized on the potential of emerging sectors such as web3 in creating employment while driving higher salaries, fostering an equitable, transparent, and dynamic economy in India.
